Trio of Trios, presented November 30, brings you two of the most perfect and beloved piano trios of all time. Schubert’s late B-flat trio, written in the last year of his life, mirrors the composer’s shifting moods and generous spirit. The Mendelssohn D Minor trio, inspired by the Schubert, will sweep you into the composer’s romantic sound world. A new trio by Judith Weir based on the hymn O Viridissima Virga (O greenest branch) by the medieval mystic nun and composer Hildegard von Bingen, completes our program.
